Book reading is a good habit.

We gain knowledge by reading books.

The some of famous who wrote several books and some of which became very popular.

The jungle book written by Rudyard Kipling is very popular story about the wild boy `mowgli’ in the Indian jungle. Kipling was born in India. He was the first English writer to win a noble prize for literature in 1907.

James Barrie, the writer and creator of ` Peter pan’ was a weaver’s son.

Lewis Carroll told a story to a little girl Alice Liddell while they were riding on a boat. On coming home he wrote down the story, whish became popular as ` Alice in wonderland’. He was a mathematics teacher at Oxford University; his real name is Charles Dogson.

The first collection of folktales by Grimm brothers was not published during their life time. It was a manuscript containing 53 stories submitted to the publisher in 1810. The publishers did not return the manuscript. However, their interesting in colleting and editing folklore did not die. In 1812 they came out with their own fairy- tale collection. The frog prince, little red riding-hood, Cinderella, the girl with out hands, the strange musician and the wolf and the seven young kids are some of their famous works for children.

Jonathan swift was born in Dublin, Ireland on 30tyh November 1667. His father died before Jonathan was born, so his education was arranged by relatives. His famous work “Gulliver’s Travels’’ was published in 1726.
